V(otum) S(olvit) L(ibens) M(erito) is an enthusiastic attempt of a single individual trying to gather and present various information and news from the world of archaeology, cultural heritage preservation & conservation, history, etc. which may interest the wider audience. In terms of “audience” VSLM doesn’t discriminate between numerous target groups, ranging from school kids, students, housewives, grandmas to professionals, scientists, you name it.
What makes VSLM different from other such blogs/websites is the fact that it isn’t updated on a daily basis with information coming from countless of “news feeds”. Two main reasons for that are that VSLM doesn’t want to bombard its readers and cause information overload, which then usually results in annoyance & stress, and people just browsing the news titles without reading anything at all (or just first few sentences). Another one is that, being the volunteering work of one person, the website is updated when the said person finds some free time (or has found something interesting to share).
That being said, the selection of presented news and materials can sometimes be quite subjective, depending on VSLM’s own thematic & geographic interests. But on the other hand, VSLM would like to have access to the news from many other geographical areas, which are, unfortunately, inaccessible for various reasons (language barrier, political situation, access to internet, etc.).
VSLM would therefore like to use this opportunity to invite everyone who has interesting news or stories from their own country, issues to which they want to draw closer attention to or raise awareness about, to share them by translating the relevant articles they have found to English language or just give their own take on the issue/story in question.
If you want to participate in this action, please send your news to the following address:

VSLM will publish it on this website and credit you in which ever way you deem appropriate: with name or alias, country of origin and a link to the original source of information (where applicable).
